Easter
“The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake.”
Psalm 23:1-3

Psalm 23 may be the most well-known and beloved of the Psalms and it has found its way into many different parts of the life of the Church. It’s typically and appropriately read this coming “Good Shepherd Sunday” as it powerfully introduces the “God as shepherd” metaphor that will be explored throughout its remaining verses. Whether the speaker is an individual or a group is not made clear, but it functions effectively both ways as we read a confession of deep trust in God. This God provides. This God takes me to good places. This God will guide me to the place I am needed to go.

Lord Our Shepherd, we trust You. Lead us to the place You need us to be. Amen
