Season after Pentecost

“The God of Israel has spoken, the Rock of Israel has said to me: One who rules over people justly, ruling in the fear of God, is like the light of morning, like the sun rising on a cloudless morning, gleaming from the rain on the grassy land.”

2 Samuel 23:3-4

King David’s last words recorded in 2 Samuel speak of the gift that good leadership can be. Like the welcome beauty of morning light, those who lead with justice and in humility to the LORD are a blessing. What are the areas of leadership you hold that need a recommitment to serving in justice and the fear of God?

God of truth and righteousness, we pray for courage and humility in the leadership responsibilities we have today. We pray also for those who rule over us. Strengthen us all in Your way that we might be a blessing. Amen
