“On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.”

The gospels are relentless in the everydayness of Jesus’ life. The evangelists refuse to let us have a spiritualized Saviour. The good news will only come to life on the ground, in a place. Even a wedding might be a venue for heaven’s in-breaking.

Keep our eyes open for the everyday ways and places that You are at work. Keep us focused on the promise that You are the God who moves into the neighbourhood, transforming the most mundane spaces into holy places. Amen
