Epiphany

“Happy are those…[whose] delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law they meditate day and night.”

Psalm 1:1a, 2

The Law, in scripture, is the Torah—the first five books of the bible—but it’s also more than that. It’s a catchall term for the way that God is with God’s people and the world. It holds all of God’s glory and grace, God’s justice and generosity, God’s creativity and kindness. To meditate day and night on God’s law is not about memorizing rules, but learning to delight in the ways and means of God at every turn.

When we are tempted to satisfy the longings of our hearts with fleeting pleasures, renew us in the gladness of Your presence. Keep us attentive to You. Shape us for Your glory. Amen
