Daily Reflection

“Look! He is coming with the clouds; every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and on his account all the tribes of the earth will wail. So it is to be. Amen.”

So it is to be. We live in the now and not yet of the new creation that Jesus began, starting with his crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension but which will not be completed until his return. It will be a revelatory return that will put our worldly schemes to scorn—all those ways that are not what God intends. What if we wrote this verse out and put it on our bathroom mirrors, to remind us of the in-between time that we live in and where we’re inevitably, thank God, headed? How might that impact the way we live our daily lives?

We tremble in anticipation and some fear of Your return. We are grateful that we know You to be steadfast in Your love and mercy. Come back soon, Christ! Complete what You have begun and put it all to rights. Amen
