Easter
“Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels surrounding the throne and the living creatures and the elders; they numbered myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, singing with full voice, ‘Worthy is the Lamb that was slaughtered to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!’”
Revelation 5:11-12

All of heaven is singing with full voice—myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands of angels, the four living creatures and the 24 elders (each holding golden bowls full of our humble prayers, v. 8). They sing in praise of the worthiness of the Lamb (a.k.a. the Lion of Judah [v. 5], Jesus the Christ). They celebrate that the Lion has won the victory over evil and death through his obedient sacrifice, becoming the Lamb, and is therefore now the only one able to move God’s good plan for creation towards its completion. In other words, because of Jesus, God doesn’t have to abandon God’s plan to work with humans. Hallelujah!

What a scene to behold! It is a marvel that You in Your steadfast love find the Way forward in Jesus; that in him humanity and heaven meet so that Your will can be done on earth as it is in heaven. Worthy is the Lamb, indeed! Amen
