Easter

“Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, singing, ‘To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!’”

Revelation 5:13

Humans and hippopotamuses, worms and whales, now join with the heavenly creatures in praise. Worship full of ascribing blessing, honour, glory, and might—due only to the one seated on the throne (who “looks like jasper and carnelian” 4:3)—is here shared with the Lamb, who was able to do what no one else could. The full divinity of the Lamb is revealed, and we are called to participate in the new creation Jesus has inaugurated.

Blessing and honour and glory and might to You, seated on the throne, and to the Lamb, in whose name we pray, only Jesus! May our lives serve Your purposes in love and mercy. Amen
