Easter
“Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, who heard that Peter was there, sent two men to him with the request, ‘Please come to us without delay.’ So Peter got up and went with them … Peter put all of them outside, and then he knelt down and prayed. He turned to the body and said, ‘Tabitha, get up.’ Then she opened her eyes, and seeing Peter, she sat up … This became known throughout Joppa, and many believed in the Lord. Meanwhile [Peter] stayed in Joppa for some time with a certain Simon, a tanner.”
Acts 9:38-39a, 40, 42-43

Tabitha, Lydda, other disciples, Peter, Simon the tanner. The new church is a network of Jesus’ followers readily helping one another when called upon, from offering hospitality to raising the dead. It is still the way we are called to be with and for one another.

Thank You for all those in the past and present who have readily offered their help to fellow faithful followers of You, sustaining and growing Your church. Help us to continue to do this now and into Your good future, for the sake of Your beloved world. Amen
