Easter
“O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures … These all look to you to give them their food in due season; when you give to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are filled with good things. When you hide your face, they are dismayed; when you take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. When you send forth your spirit, they are created; and you renew the face of the ground.”
Psalm 104:24, 27-30

One of the LORD’s deeds of power that we are all reliant on is creation. In Believing Three Ways In One God, the theologian Nicholas Lash states, “The life God gives is nothing other, nothing less, than God’s own self. Life is God, given.” What a tremendous gift that is!

We are not self-made. We are Your creatures, made and loved by You. Such knowledge is too wonderful for us; it is so high that we cannot attain it. May we recognize our utter reliance on You. May we cherish and care for the whole of Your creation. Amen
